New projects for 2012

Hi all , this is truly going to be a busy year for me.

I have joined the North East Art Tour which takes place during June and July. So I already have been busy planning and creating new paintings and mixed media pieces. I will be opening my studio for workshops on textiles and mixed media paintings and also to the public to view and hopefully purchase my art and craft work.
I am also a member of the Haltwhistle Art Club which hold their own art exhibition in August and they may have another in November so lots more art and crafts to make. One piece of work that I am creating for the exhibition in August is an altered art book, in which all the pages are designed with input from the members.

I am including some photos from my 2012 project book. They are images which I have gathered and compiled over the winter in preparation for my busy but exciting 2012 year.

Enjoy and come back soon for more updates

Changes

Have not been as attentive to my blog as I should but we opened a shop some time agao and it has kept us very busy. Take a look at our website http://www.daydreamslemagasin.co.uk/

I am also preparing for an art show at the end of August with the art club I am in. Trying out lots of new ideas with paint and fabric. Pictures to follow................promise

Our little shop is coming to the end of it's time and I will be moving on to Spain due to my parents being unwell. I have decided to give some art and craft classes while there so I will be renting my own place to continue with my art work. I have been exploring painting and fabric collages which are amazing to create and I have found a real wonder in handmade books lots lots more to follow....................... new pictures soonnnnnnnnnn

Rain fall

After a heavy rain fall the rivers are full to bursting and flow so fast. I want to catch this speed of water, the feeling of danger as you get close to the edge, the sound of rushing water, the churning of water over rocks, the sound as it hits the wall of the bridge. It's wild and free and no one can stop the river on it's fast, roaring flow

Visit to holland

On a recent visit to Holland I have been found a great source of inspiration for new projects. The chill air, the wonderful art galleries and the over all feel of canals and tall houses. My sketchbook, photographs and notes of things I've seen and how I felt inspire me to make a range of wall hangings and mixed media pictures.
As I write I have started work on  a wall hanging and just finished a collage picture set in a box frame.
